“For two personalities to meet is like mixing two chemical substances if there is any combination at all, both are transformed.”

Hi, I’m Charlotte St.James .

My life’s work is rooted in a Jungian understanding of psyche and a devotion to the inner life. I work in relationship with the unconscious— as it speaks through dreams, symbols, and archetypal images that guide us beyond the reach of the rational mind. Meaning emerges not through interpretation alone, but through dialogue with these living images.

I earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in 1998, along with a certificate in Creative Expression. In 1999, following a dream retreat with Jeremy Taylor, I began facilitating a dream group that continues to meet today. From 1998 to 2007, I also participated in an experiential dream group led by Dr. Hillevi Ruumet, where dreams were entered, embodied, and lived rather than interpreted—an approach that shaped my imaginal, depth-psychological orientation.

Alongside this work, I earned a Certificate in Applied Social Gerontology at San José State University and spent 25 years as a geriatric care manager, accompanying individuals and families through the soul work of aging, loss, and life transition.

In 2023, my engagement with symbolic language expanded to include tarot, when I received a Certificate as a Tarot Reader in the Jungian Perspective from Jungian analyst Dr. Kenneth James, PhD. Like dreams, tarot offers archetypal mirrors—inviting reflection, not prediction.

After retiring from geriatric care management in 2025, I opened Dreams and Tarot in 2026 as a space for symbolic exploration and dialogue with the unconscious. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my poodle giving me daily reminders of the psyche’s need for play, presence, and love.
